Philippines: Among Top Five Countries for Number of Out-of-School Children
Based on a recent report from UNESCO's Institute for Statistics more than 57 million children are denied the right to primary education. Nigeria tops the list with 10.5 million out-of-school children. The top five countries are: Nigeria (10.5 million); Pakistan (5.1 million); Ethiopia (2.4 million); India (2.3 million) and the Philippines (1.5 million).
